Good morning Fedi friends!
My biggest self-hosting project for Q1 of 2026 will be to set up a new YunoHost installation on a second VPS and migrate my PeerTube instance there... Thankfully there's an excellent guide about this:
Why would I do such a thing?
Well, I think it's wise to have a separate VPS just for PeerTube, as it's the most resource hungry project I'm self-hosting.
At times it makes me a little nervous to think it's bundled with my GoToSocial, NextCloud and other essential services I'm self-hosting. I want it to be in a separate, independent space...
The other big project for Q1 and Q2 of 2026 will be to move all my videos currently on Vimeo to my self-hosted PeerTube. Since Vimeo's acquisition by Bending Spoons, I don't trust it one bit... I'm eager to jump ship to something self-hosted as soon as I can...
